Racheal Burford – Director of Women’s Rugby

Playing Career: Harlequins and England.

Representative Honours: England, England 7s.

After Making her Full XV debut in 2006 Rugby World Cup in Canada, and having debuted for England 7s in 2004, Rachael has over 80 international Caps (XVs) and 22 international Caps (7s) which, has seen Rachael feature in five Rugby World Cups, six RBS 6 nations tournaments, 3 European Championships & various Autumn & Summer international tours and Tests culminating in becoming a World Champion in August 2014. Rachael earned the first English professional woman’s contract in 2014, and was awarded the Player of The Year for England 2014,

Coaching Career:  Rachael successfully retired from international rugby in pursuit of further developing and improving the women’s game. Through coaching, public speaking, currently sitting on the International Rugby Player Association (IRPA) board, a standing committee member for World Rugby and the Athletes commissions board, she ensures players are being heard and actions are taken to support the women’s game.

Rachael also set up the Girls Rugby Club, supporting a global community for female players via an online interactive coaching platform, engaging social channels and face to face workshops.
